FieldX Sampling App Updated- Improved Navigation Features

New Features: Improved In-Field Navigation + Turn-by-Turn Directions 

Please use the information below to help you get started in using the latest updates to the FieldX Sampling app for the iPad or iPhone. If you have any questions about getting started with the Sampling app, please contact us.

To use the Improved In-Field Navigation Features:

      • Open a Sampling journal entry for an individual field by tapping through the field list or tapping on a field border.
      • Tap on the ‘Flag’ icon to add a navigation flag to the map either at your Current Location or at the Center of the Current View.
      • Tap and hold the flag to move it to a sample point or other place.
      • The navigation dial is automatically turned on when the Flag is on the map to assist with navigation.
        • The solid line represents the direction the user is facing, and the arrow indicates the direction of travel required to reach the flag.
      • To move to the next point in the sequence, tap on the Flag icon, then tap ‘Move to Next Sample.’

To use the Turn-by-Turn Direction Feature:

      • Open a Sampling journal entry for an individual field by tapping through the field list or tapping on a field border.
      • Tap on the directions icon. On the iPad, the icon is to the top-right of the map view. The icon is to the lower-right of the app on the iPhone.
      • Tap ‘Start’ in Apple Maps to begin the turn-by-turn directions.

Release Notes:

The FieldX Sampling App version 2.1 provides the following new features and bug fixes:

    • Added a navigation dial indicating direction to the flag placed on a map.
    • When moving the navigation flag, the flag marker can snap to a sample location.
    • The user can move the flag to the next available sample.
    • Added the ability to send a field location to Apple maps for turn-by-turn Directions.
